Village houses with a sign for Le Château d'Oz
Le Château d’Oz is the biggest house in the village.

Le Château d’Oz is at the heart of the most interesting and challenging area of the French Alps for cyclists. The Oisans area contains the famous 21 bends to Alpe d’Huez, the Col de Glandon and the Croix de Fer which are so close together and yet so different in character and other climbs to be discovered. Access to all of these routes is an easy ride from the house.

The Col de Galibier, one of the giants of the Alps.

Further afield are the Col de Lautaret, Col du Galibier, the Télégraphe and the Granon. Intrepid cyclists can even get to ride the Izoard on their cycling holiday with a car strategically parked in Briançon.

a group og cyclists crossing a bridge
The first group in la Marmotte crosses the bridge just below the house.

The Tour de France passes this area almost every year to test the pros on the spectacular Alpine roads. There are also the Classic local sportives like La Marmotte, Le Vaujany and others.
